Few mountain ranges in the Czech Republic have been affected by human activity as much as the Jizera Mountains. Although they are nowadays one of the most popular tourist destinations, they also hide many secrets, which the creators set out to discover. They filmed with the most modern technology on both the Czech and Polish sides of the mountains. The film tells the story of the Jizera Mountains from their origin to the present day. The filmmakers mapped both living and non-living nature, places interwoven with a dense network of hiking trails, but above all those where no trails lead. They also took unique footage from underground. To ensure that nothing important was missing from the film, Viktor Kuna consulted more than a dozen people from various fields. They tell stories that are the most important for understanding the region around the Jizera River.
